The grits are ceramic coated with iron oxide at high temperatures improving their capacity to bond each other in resin bonded cutting-off discs. BTRC can also be added in grinding wheels formulations (grits 10, 12, 14 and 16) for high stock removal ratio, substituting as far as 20% of the alumina-zirconia grits normally used in these abrasives.
